SMS Code is never sent when I try to disable two-factor auth

    I switched phones and need to set up WordPress with the authenticator on my new phone. However, when I attempt to disable two-factor authentication, clicking “resend code” never sends me an SMS. And I have set up my # for SMS on WordPress.com, and I double-checked it.

    Hi there,

    Your account is not showing any phone number set for two-step authentication or for account recovery. You will need to use one of your backup codes to disable 2FA so you can set it up again with the new phone.

    Note this is specifically for your WordPress.com username account. If you’re using a 2FA plugin for the dashboard login on your self-hosted site, http://datkin.net/, you’ll need to contact the plugin developer for help with this, as we have no control whatsoever over that site’s login.
