SMS Codes not arriving

    Hello,

    I have problems with SMS authentication. Namely — for example from time to time when I try to export my blog, I get SMS code from WP just fine. Yesterday and today I tried to change my profile (to set my main blog address) and there is also SMS code authentication. But this time I didn’t receive any code — I am not 100% sure if the browser does not work, WP didn’t send the code, I didn’t receive them, as the effect I cannot enter my user profile.

    As writing this I tried another browser, after giving the password the SMS code is needed (it was sent, page says), again, I didn’t receive it.

    I restarted my phone, it didn’t change a thing. Did something break recently? Any help will be appreciated.

    Btw. I cannot go through account recovery it seems, because there 2-way authentication means app for a phone (I don’t have one, i.e. app), and even if it would mean SMS code, those are not arriving on my phone anymore. So basically I am toasted at this point. Without second way of verification the WP site block any attempt of account recovery.

  • Hi @jinxedusername, can you clarify whether that’s related to this account? You mentioned the account recovery process.

    I can see we delivered some 2FA SMS codes on May 30. Did they come through after a while?

    Yes, it is related to my account. I tried to go through account recovery process only to send a message I cannot access my account profile.

    I cannot access account profile because I don’t receive any SMS codes anymore.

    I cannot go through account recovery because I didn’t enable any other 2 step auth method except SMS codes, and:
    a) SMS codes are not valid for account recovery
    b) I don’t get SMS code anyway

    No, to this day I didn’t receive anything.
