  I really don’t understand all this…I paid ITX design for Web Hosting & my Domain registration. I now understand that they don’t help to build my website. They had you install your app so I could build it, but now I need to switch or move my domain & if I don’t I have to pay you $13’yr? I really don’t understand. I simply want to build my little website.

  Hi there,

  It sounds like you have hired a company to design a website for you, yes?

  One thing to be aware of is that most web designers use a different (more advanced) version of the WordPress platform. This allows them to set up what is called a “self-hosted” WordPress site, which are sites that you create on a “traditional web hosting company” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.

  That is a little different from what we offer at WordPress.com, which is a fully managed platform where you can set up a site by yourself (no designer needed) and we take care of all the hosting and technical bits for you.

  With that in mind, you do not actually need your account here with us, since it sounds like you have someone helping you with your site. Apologies for any confusion!
