  I have a macbook plus. Looking for software that will allow me to just write a first draft. No fancy stuff. No distractions. Basically, I’d love an IBM Selectric typewriter, but that’s not an option. Help, please!

  Hi there, I would suggest using Text Edit, which comes with your Mac, and in the Preferences, set it for plain text. Then when you copy and paste into the WordPress editor, it won’t inadvertently put in any code that could mess up your site. You can then go through and do any formatting that you need to directly in the WordPress editor.

  There are other plain text editors available, but the good ones all cost $$, so if Text Edit works for you, it’s all the better.
