Software glitches

  I’m using a tutorial to build a site, and everything was working well until things got glitchy with WordPress. I ended up with a home page that couldn’t be deleted because, in the dashboard, it showed zero pages, but on my site, the navigation menu showed a homepage. Then the software substituted ‘blocks’ for the add pages feature, and now I cannot add pages. With Hostgator we deleted old files and reinstalled WordPress, but the Blocks/Add pages conflict is still there. I cannot add or alter pages.
