Some Post images no longer viewable

I run OSX Maverick. Some images in some posts that were displayed (over a period of 5 months) are no longer displayed. In some Posts they are viewable in Edit Mode but not in Update/Published Mode. In some Edit Modes the images are also not displayed. Different browsers show the same problem, and accessing the Posts through a Public Library computer running Windows shows the same problem. My Media library has only used 125 MB of the allocated 3 GB The solution to the above problem? Many thanks. Pete.

Can you give me some specific examples of where you are seeing this? A post URL and which images in that post you are no longer seeing? That would be a big help in troubleshooting.

Post url attached at end of this note. This is one of my popular posts.
Scroll down just before half way down and ‘Boulevard Richard-Lenoir, Oct 1959’ is not displayed, then ‘Jaques Tati, photographed by Robert Doiseneau’, and then, near the bottom of the post ‘Kids at Place Hebert’ not displayed. This problem with images not appearing started approx. three weeks ago, and is behaving retrospectively and at present. Note that I am way off using up my allocated Media Library GB.Many thanks for any advice. Here is the link:

It appears that those images contain errors that prevent them from being correctly displayed. When I visit the file page directly, I get an error message:
Sadly, I do not think there is a solution other than to re-upload them.

There has to be a reason why the images have become ‘corrupted’ in some way. If I try and upload them again from the Media Library they remain “corrupted”. I therefore have to scan them in again from the original source.
I am trying to understand what has happened, so that it does not reoccur. I’m afraid your answer does not answer my original question.

This would indicate to me that they are corrupted in the original file. I’m not sure why you would have seen them operate correctly in the “edit” view, I am not seeing that behavior.
Can you open the original images in an editing program? If you can, you could try re-saving them and seeing if that helps.
