Some time in the revision history is gone or missing

    In my revision history, it says that I have made changes 20 minutes and 9 hours ago, and so on. But it is not true because I am suppose to have a revision from 3 hours ago. I have been typing and saving starting from 9 hours ago, at least every 30 minutes. I closed my browser for a while, obviously I saved before closing. After 3 hours, I checked my phone app, and the title is not updated. I tried updating the title from the phone and closed the app. After going back to the browser, the latest change that was made is only from my phone. All the work I did on the laptop browser was gone and not found in revisions. I want it back. It is so frustrating.

    Oh dear! I’m sorry to hear that. Did you have the phone app open to the editor at the same time as you were saving in the browser? I’m wondering if there was a conflict.

    No, I did not have it open. I opened my phone app because someone had borrowed the laptop. I was thinking, maybe I didn’t wait for it to update itself in the app? I was so excited to write that time.

    I’m not sure if this is worth noting… When I opened my blogpost again in the browser, it briefly manage to retain its content, but then when it updated, it disappeared and replaced it with the contents that had been edited on the app beforehand.

    Sorry for the outburst. I’m thankful that I’m receiving help.

    Looks like that the changes you made to your computer weren’t synced and that’s why they were overridden by the ones made on your phone.

    Since those changes were saved locally on your browser’s temporary cache it’s impossible for us to retrieve them.

    And I wouldn’t be able to retrieve that cache.

    So unpublished posts or drafts were saves in the local cache? Specifically, it only saves on local cache if you let your browser tab stay on that “editing” page? Do you need to have a different activity on that tab to update it on your server? Just out of curiosity though.

    This is a fluke thing that happened. Normally, the draft will save to your account and not get stuck in the local browser cache.

    An easy thing you can do would be to copy the text and paste it in a note or word doc as a back up copy.
