someone used my personal email address to sign up for 2000K sites

  Hello,

  someone is using my personal email address and signed me up for over 2000 WordPress sites, how is this possible? Thanks for your help.

  You commented somewhere on a site and when you did that your email address was revealed. Either that or your email address has been hacked.

  You are subscribed to only one site in our system, the self-hosted Jetpack site, communitymanagerappreciationday.com

  I see no other subscriptions in your account, and we have sent you a total of 5 emails over the past month, not counting the one you’ll get when I post this reply. So the emails you’ve been receiving are not coming from us.

  If someone knows your email address they can use it to sign you up for anything, create accounts in your name, etc. There’s not much you or anyone can do to prevent this, aside from not clicking on any confirmation links you receive, and ignoring/filtering/spamming those emails when you receive them.
