I asked for help to close this account numerous times, help didn’t come.
I have a new, self-hosting account and this situation is causing me a huge problem because my new site has the same name, under WP.org., still different user name.
I have there already over 50 posts, 4 of those shown here, I don’t know why, and I cannot really work with google properly, old data popping up.
Please kindly help me to cancel this account.
    Thank you very much!!!
    Regards,
    Maya

This is because there is a paid Akismet anti-spam plan attached to your WordPress.com account.

The plan is for anti-spam services on http://www.mayagalaxy.com/ and won’t expire until September 10.

Since Akismet uses WordPress.com’s account system, we’ll need to cancel this plan before you can close your WordPress.com account. Would you like us to do this?

I’d like to hear more about this, your WordPress.com account shouldn’t have any effect on self-hosted WordPress.org sites, as they’re all self-contained.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I do see that you have some WordPress.org sites connected to your WordPress.com account by the way of the Jetpack plugin. Managing your WordPress.org sites via WordPress.com is just one of Jetpack’s features, it’s not a requirement for running your WordPress.org sites.

I also see that you have connected what appears to be a development version and a live version of the same site, mayagalaxy.com.routing.wpmanagedhost.com vs. mayagalaxy.com which I supposed could be the source of the confusion.

If you describe a bit more about the problems you’re running into, we should be able to help you clear up any confusion. :)
