Sorting out my WP profile

The Gmail account I used to launch my blog, 8woodblog.com, is linked via my WordPress.com account to a workplace blog I formally oversaw. (FWIW that blog is now operating under a different domain, so the site is no longer being updated, though it is still live.)
As you can imagine, this has caused me all sorts of troubles on the back-end of my blog, yet I cannot figure out how to disconnect the old blog as the ‘primary site’ from my account. Can anyone help?

Hi @8woodblog, sure thing. I do just see one site on this account though. Did you still need help, or was this for another account?
If it’s for another account, can you log in as that user first?

I’m trying to fix my @8woodblog account, but this gets pretty confusing.
My profile does indeed list my blog, 8woodblog.com, but when I go into Account Settings, it lists the correct Web Address but my old workplace blog under Primary Site. So in the upper left corner, if I click My Site, it takes me to the wrong site. I can’t figure out how to disconnect that inactive domain.
Another issue I forgot to mention: Because of this confusion, I get Jetpack email notifications whenever my site goes offline at my work email address, not my Gmail account.

OK one other thing I just discovered:
I have a pre-existing WP account as @svenmonster, and it lists 8-Wood Blog along with the updated domain for my employer’s blog. So it seems like there’s some weird mixup or wires crossed between them.

Okay, yeah, that one is definitely connected.
Try logging in as that user, then use these steps:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/disconnect-jetpack-sites/Then head over to the Website section here:
https://wordpress.com/me/accountYou can enter your proper URL there.
Note: unfortunately, this won’t fix your link in old comments. But new ones going forward will be right.

OK, I followed those steps and disconnected Jetpack on 8woodblog.com in my @svenmonster account.
However, my @8woodblog account still lists the incorrect Primary site. Will that be an issue?

Did you head to https://wordpress.com/me/account and select the correct site there?

So here’s where it gets weird:
On prior visits to that page, the Primary Site field only listed one site — the discontinued work blog— in the drop-down menu. Now it lists 8-Wood in the drop-down, but when I try to select it and save, it automatically reverts back to bluesperspectives.wordpress.com.

Wait, now it worked. Fourth time’s a charm?
I’d still like to disconnect that old domain, though.

Hi @8woodblog, thanks for your patience with me here. I realized that wasn’t a Jetpack site, so you couldn’t disconnect that way (that’s the normal scenario we see.) I’ve removed you from our end. Cheers :)
