Spam email from WordPress

  I’ve recently received an email about registering for a giveaway ( Mama Chia Giveaway) by WordPress, but I never registered for such a thing. I’ve also recently received an email from WordPress asking me to change my password (which I did, as it was a legitimate email from the website) for security reasons. Has anyone encountered this?

  We haven’t sent any emails about registering for a giveaway, which suggests it was sent by a third party rather than WordPress.com. What is the ‘from’ email address? And what is the URL of the site running the giveaway?

  I’ve also recently received an email from WordPress asking me to change my password (which I did, as it was a legitimate email from the website) for security reasons.

  Yes that’s right, we have reset passwords for some WordPress.com accounts due to suspicious activity — more information was included in the email we sent you.

  If you give me more information about the giveaway email you’ve received, I’ll look into that for you.
