Spam from comments on specific pages in my blog
-
Why are two specific pages in my blog receiving so much spam? The majority of spam is from comments going to either my “About” page or this one: https://myfoggybrain.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1104&action=edit
If there is something I can change to reduce the spam, please let me know.
Thank you!

Hi there,
Sorry about the trouble, and thanks for reporting the issue.
If you notice that you’re only getting spam comments on those pages, and no real comments, you might want to turn off the comments on those pages. You can also change your settings (under Settings > Discussion in your dashboard) so that comments are automatically turned off after a post has been published for a set number of days. That can help control spam, since usually spammers are more likely than real commenters to target old posts. (Real commenters tend to focus more on your newest content.)
If a lot of the spam comments have a common string of text, I suggest adding that string to your blacklist: http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-blacklist
You can use the comment author’s name, IP address, web site, as well as the comment itself. Please make sure the word is not something contained in non-spam comments. For example, if you enter “press” as a blacklisted word, “WordPress” will match.
Also, please mark those comments as spam instead of just deleting them. Our Akismet anti-spam engine tries to learn from a pattern of the comments that are marked as spam, so the more comments you mark as spam the better Akismet will get at automatically sending them to spam for you.
We also have more information about dealing with unwanted comments here: Unwanted Comments and Comment Spam
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
