Split: account recovery
-
I got an email saying someone is trying to get into my account after 20 times. What should I do? I can’t find a thread or forum for it.

@melanievelasquez0108 – please do not add your request to other’s threads. I’ve split off your comment into its own thread here:

Can you let us know the URL of the site where you’re having this problem? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Thank you!

I ended up blocking the IP addresses and deleting the site since it was a site used for a class that was never completed. Should I be worry about my other sites through WordPress?

To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:
1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now. It’s always good practice to make sure your sites are secure to protect from hacks or breaches. WordPress.org has a great resource on how to harden your site against these types of attacks that may be useful:

If you still have trouble, please reach out to the WordPress community for guidance:

I hope that helps!
