Splitting My Blogs Up

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi. I have four blogs PLUS a learning blog for a degree course I am taking. The learning blog needs to be separate from the travel blogs but, even though I signed out of WordPress and then created a new blog – different name, different email address – the travel blogs still appear in ‘My Sites’ and the learning blog does not.

This is causing me terrible confusion and wastes hours of my time trying to find the learning blog (it isn’t actually listed in ‘My Blogs’)

How can I split it completely so I am either in the travel blog OR the learning blog?

    Thank you, Christine.

    This is the learning Blog:

    Here are the travel blogs:
    http://motoguzziriders.com

I have just tried the new learning blog and it is bringing up content from within my motoguzzimomma site.

    Totally confused.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

I have four blogs PLUS a learning blog for a degree course I am taking. The learning blog needs to be separate from the travel blogs but…

So you have three blogs in one WordPress.com account, and one blog in a second account. Correct?

…even though I signed out of WordPress and then created a new blog – different name, different email address – the travel blogs still appear in ‘My Sites’ and the learning blog does not.

There will be a separate “My Sites” for each WordPress.com account, so there is no reason for your “learning blog” in account B to appear in My Sites of account A. If you want the learning blog in account A, it can be moved. See the Transferring a Site to Another WordPress.com Account support page.

I have just tried the new learning blog and it is bringing up content from within my motoguzzimomma site.

Could you explain what you mean by that. Did you copy and paste any content, images for example, from motoguzzimomma to the learning blog?

Hi there and thanks for the reply.

It is rather confusing to explain.

I have four blogs (different years) in one wordpress account (motoguzzimomma is the username).

When I started my degree, I THOUGHT I had started a totally separate blog for my learning log on a new wordpress account (as required by the college).

However, everything I wrote on the college blog appears in the motoguzzimomma site but it is not named as one of my sites!

I didn’t mix the content at any point; it seems that wordpress is connecting my email account (even in its various forms) and then connects all my wordpress sites to the motoguzzimomma blog.

I think I have now sorted it out as best as I am able. I signed out of site A and set up a new account using a new email address. Unbelievable, the content from my learning blog (blog B) appeared in the content.

But, I do seem to have separated the two wordpress accounts.

It is still a mystery to me how the content from site A appeared in a totally new wordpress account though.

    four blogs

Yes, of course. Sorry, I misread the count of the various blogs.

So have you corrected/resolved the issue? I count eleven published posts in July 2015 on motoguzzimomma, and none on https://christineatoca.wordpress.com/. I don’t know what might have caused the issue you encountered. You may add a “modlook” tag to the side of this topic to call for staff attention.
