spotify/embed issue

The block editor is not allowing me to embed Spotify links. I hit ‘add block,’ I select Spotify, I enter the link and it says ‘Sorry, we could not embed that content.’ It then has a Try Again option, which never fixes it.

I admit I am not good at this stuff, but I looked all over the place online for an answer before doing this. I tried with numerous songs to make sure it’s not an issue with one particular song.

Hi there,
Can you please give one of the Spotify links you’re trying to embed so we can check it? And are you getting the link from the Spotify website, or from the Spotify app?
And are you pasting the link by just pressing Enter to create a new block and then pasting the link, or do you specifically select the Spotify block? I just tried using both methods, and in each case the song embedded properly, so it’s more likely a problem with the links themselves you’re using, but it would be good to confirm the method.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Today, I did the exact same thing I was doing yesterday — and it seems to be working. So I guess this can close until my next dumb question appears haha.

Next time this happens, please try clearing your browser cache – it’s possible something was stuck in the cache that prevented the embed code from working, and that eventually cleared itself out.
And there are no dumb questions. Rather report an issue so we can troubleshoot and make sure it’s not a bug that affects other people as well :)
