SSL for domains registered with GoDaddy that redirect to WordPress

Hello, I have two domains registered with GoDaddy: betweentwoislands.com and between2islands.com. Both redirect to betweentwoislands.wordpress.com. GoDaddy is recommending that I add SSL to my two domains. Question 1: Do I need this if my WordPress site uses SSL? Question 2: If I do add SSL to the two domains, what CSR, etc. do I use? GoDaddy said it depends on the WordPress configuration. Thanks!

  • Hi @12andspring, both of these do a regular redirect to betweentwoislands.wordpress.com, and betweentwoislands.wordpress.com already has SSL on it. In this case there is no need to add it to those domains.

If you’d like to map a domain instead of just redirecting, you can do that, too. Here’s how: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Once you’ve added a custom domain, we add SSL to it shortly.

Let us know if you need help with that!
