Staging a new site

    How do I keep the old site up and running as is for a few months (it is not a WP site). But in parallel stage a new site using WP as WP as the host for the site and email?

    Hi there,

    You are welcome to start your site here on WordPress.com and get fully set up using the “wordpress.com” address we assign at the time you create your site.

    Many site owner do this, and when the site is ready to “launch” you can then connect your domain at that time, which will essentially replace your existing site with the new one you created here at WordPress.com

    When you are ready to “launch” your new site, you can add your domain here to start the process: https://wordpress.com/domains/add/
