Staging website

  My staging website is sharing the same database as my live website – how can we split the two even more so that if a change on the staging website goes wrong, it doesn’t damage the database of the live site?

  Your question is not regarding a site hosted on WordPress.com, but one using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. WordPress.com does not offer staging sites or database access, so we don’t have the information and experience necessary to advise you on this in the WordPress.com forums.
