Stats good for topics read … but nothing for visitors, zero

  Visitor numbers began to look a little suspect yesterday, jumping around, forward and back …. Today down to zero despite having posts read by folks in half a dozen countries. Spooky eh?

  Hi @peterbowes, is this just happening today? I know the view vs visitors are calculated somewhat differently, and may not be synced nicely in real-time.

  If you go back to yesterday’s stats, do they look more normal? Please also check today’s stats once 24 hours have passed to see if they look correct then. Let us know your findings.

  Thanks for getting back so quick. … everything back to normal today, dedicated visitor stats back up as well as post views. I’ll let you know if tomorrow is a repeat.

  Same problem exists today, 8:27 am Australia time, and has since midnight’s turnover. I have page views on both blogs but no visitor numbers.

  Hi there,

  To clarify, you do see the visitor numbers fill in later, yes? I see that for previous days it does appear, but for the current one I don’t see those yet.

  One thing to be aware of is that our stats are not presented in realtime, but can be delayed by a few hours as we process traffic data and interpolate visitor stats from them. For this reason if you are doing stats analysis we usually recommend you focus on the previous days, as they contain the complete record of stats for that 24 hour period

  Yes I do, but it’s uncommon to see the visitor numbers fill so slowly, nevertheless I’ll take your advice and wait to the 24 hours. Thanks again for the assistance, much appreciated.
