Hi there,
No one can access your Media Library but you. What is happening is that some visitors click on the images that are inserted on your posts and view them in an individual window or tab. When this happens those image views are recorded in your stats.

I assumed that was the case until a file which has not been used on any of my posts was recorded as downloaded.
