Stats Issue
-
I have a photo on a page of my blog (not a new photo, by the way . . . one that’s been that for quite some time), and it seems to be generated several hundred ‘hits’ on my stats report. The referring search term is “christian cross.” Any ideas how to rectify this situation?

If you don’t want search engine traffic then you could make the blog visibility private. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

It’s not that I don’t want search engine traffic. It’s that the same image gets counted in my site hits up to 80 times per hour over the last six hours, and it makes no sense. It’s almost like something out there in cyberspace is malfunctioning. I routinely get search engine traffic from indexed images — usually no more than 30-50 per day though. This definitely stands out as exceptional.

That’s definitely strange. I’ve flagged this thread for Staff attention. Please state what the image file is titled.

By any chance, are these coming from Yahoo Image Search? If so, it’s a glitch in their system that has happened in the past. They usually put a stop to it in a few days.
