sticky message at top of the blog

Hi,
I would like my welcome message to stick at the top of my blog. How can I do that??

The only current ways are to create a post, and then every time you make a new post, open the sticky post and change the post date/time.
The other way is to put the welcome message into a text widget and put the widget at the top of your sidebar.

Another solution would be to create a static front page, but that will adversely effect your search engine juice. And of course there are those of us who don’t like static pages since we always have to click another link to get to the meat of the blog.

There is a possibility (not a probability until we actually see it) that a sticky post function will make its way into wordpress when the next big upgrade comes along. Again, take it all with a grain of salt. No one will know what features will be upcoming until they actually arrive.
