Stolen access to website, hacked

  • Unknown's avatar

My website was being used or controlled by someone else in May of 2021. I began the site in 2015, threelettersaday, but it was paid account or URL under the same name. I was not able to make administrative changes because other email addresses were in control. Now, I see the free version, threelettersaday.wordpress.com is listed with my name and I am able to put in a complaint. I did not realize I had access before. Please let me know what happened to my account, and how did someone else gain control and administrative access. I was not able to do anything in control settings at that time. How do you contact support with WordPress directly? I was not able to contact anyone with this problem previously. Thank you

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

The free website threelettersaday.wordpress.com is connected to your account keinasmall. You only created 2 posts back in january 2015. As it is connected to your account, it certainly is your site.
If you are talking about threelettersaday.com, that site was registered in May 2021, https://www.whois.com/whois/threelettersaday.com. If you let your domain expire, you are stating you no longer want to use it. After a length of time, that domain is released and anyone who wants can register it.
Your domain threelettersaday.com was registerad with wordpress.com from 2016 till April 2021. Then you moved it away.

  • Hi there!

I’m not sure I understand what you mean that other email addresses were in control? Could you elaborate a bit on that?
The last password reset on your account was 2 years ago, and since you have the two-factor authentication enabled, someone would need to have access to both your email and phone device to log into your account.

Are you sure you were logged into the correct account when you could not manage your site?
