Stop Classic editor block popping up in window

  Hi all.
  
  I’ve just set up a new account to write about my other interests, but I’ve already hit apon an annoyance.
  
  In my other account, when I select Classic Editor from the blocks it allows me to type directly on to the page. However, in this new account, the Classic Editor pops up in a window above the page.
  
  I can’t seem to get rid of it or find any information on how to change it so I can just write directly on the page. It’s super annoying and it’s holding me up, so can anyone tell me how to sort it?
  
  I’ve experimented with themes and options but nothing works, and there’s no obvious way to do this.
