Stop sub-items from showing on the category page

    Hi, I am completely new to WordPress and I cannot code. I am making a simple travel website and have problems with the menu. I have a simple menu like this: Continent>country>places. You click on the continent (category) and are suppose to see only countries (category), then when you click on the country, you are supposed to see the places (pages). However, on my site, when I click on the continent, countries and places are mixed all together. It is very annoying, and no parent and child system helps and even if I attach the place to the country as the only category, it still doesn’t help. Is there any plug to solve it? I am afraid to mess inside index.php etc.
