Storage – Upgrade

Dear Sirs or Madam
I am using WordPress for my Blog during my Assignment to Singapore only. I am kind of writing a journal and add videos and photos for my family and friends at home. I started that in June and will finish upon my return to Switzerland in May/June 2017.
However, I wanted to do another post and was notified that I already used the storage I got with the free subscription. So I checked out the different packages and now wondering, as I am not even in the halftime I am not sure whether another 3GB would be sufficient if I go with the Premium. But I think another 10GB is then too much. However, if I am now go with the Premium (which I have to do for a full year right?) and I realise it is too less I would need to buy the Business for another year right? And thus end up paying double..
Is there a solution in between or is it possible to only buy a half-year-package? As I really don’t will use it upon my return as the aim of the blog is only this time abroad. So I kind of don’t like the idea to spend 99USD for something which I will only use for the next 6 months.

There is no option for a half-year upgrade. All WordPress.com upgrades are billed yearly.
However, if you purchase a plan and then partway through the year realize that you needed a larger plan, staff can usually help you out by crediting the unused portion towards the larger plan.
