strange links to advertising I have not setup
-
Hi there,
I have noticed that when I visit my site, some words have been setup as metalinks to some kind of advertising …no idea how they got there, it’s some kind of spam? .. not aure if it is a “trick” of my browser .. but I want to remove them.
Please, can you help ?
Many thanks.

Would you please take a screenshot of the ads you’re seeing and upload it via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard so we can take a look?

Hi,
Many thanks for your reply.
This is the screenshot of the page:http://mvfx.org/?attachment_id=253
in the dashboard under Media, the file is called: mvfx_screenshot
I have highlighted the words in blue (with a red circle) that are metalinks to advertising …
But of course , probably is better if you actually go to the page ( http://www.mvfx.org) … there you can see it for yourself …
Thanks for your help and suggestions …

I did not see that ad when visiting the site, and we currently are not running ads like that.
Please note that it’s possible for ads to appear in your browser that were not placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:
