Strange site listed in th WordPress App

    I have a site listed in my WordPress iOS app that is not mine. It is not listed under “My Sites” in the WordPress SIte visited on my Computer outside the IOS app. It seems to send the viewer to a random website. I am a complete beginner and I would like to delete it. I have searched but nothing really matches my predicament.
    Is it possible that you could help. My site is hosted on the free version of WordPress as I am practicing.

    Hi there,

    It sounds like a self-hosted site may have been inadvertently connected to your WordPress.com account. What is the URL of the site? I’ll be happy to take a look.

    Hi Darnell thank you so much for responding. The sight SAYS that it is called Stuart McQuarrie and it has a n IP address below it. When I click settings it takes me to a site related to Cardiff City. If I click on admin it brings up a window telling me that the connection isn’t private and that it may be a fraudulent website impersonating another site. There is no way of deleting it apparently and clicking on other buttons only has the equivalent of a spinning ball.

    Hi Stuart,

    Is the site listed as http://178.62.25.193/?

    That redirects to the site, https://www.rampworldcardiff.co.uk/, hosted by Digital Ocean, and connected to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin. This Jetpack plugin has existed in your account for four years. Only someone with access to your WordPress.com account would have been able to make that connection.

    Most likely you had another site with that same IP connected to your account at some point, but never disconnected it when you stopped using that site. When someone else then started using that same IP with a new site, it just continued using the existing Jetpack connection.

    Regardless, I’ve gone ahead and removed that connection now so the site will no longer appear in your account. You might need to log out of the app and back in before the change will reflect there.
