Struggling to format mobile site

  My desktop site looks fine but on mobile, the whole page is shifted too far to the right so that a lot of content is off-screen and not visible. When editing the mobile site in the WordPress editor, everything looks as though it is formatted correctly and fits on the page. I have played around with moving things, changing alignments and adding gaps between certain words but nothing seems to update or change when I go to view the site on mobile (I have updated my changes and reloaded the mobile site before viewing).
