Stuck editing wp-config-sample.php file, error establishing

  I am using Cpanel to migrate wordpress.com to wordpress.org, but do not understand how, and even if, I have to change and edit the wp-config-sample.php file. I know that you have to edit the database name, password etc, but do not know how to do this using CPANEL! I am doing this because there is an “error establishing connection” when trying to install wordpress.org, and this seems to be the most likely cause no? Thank you!

  If you need help with your new host, you’ll need to contact them directly. If you need help installing or setting up the open source WordPress software, you should head over to the WordPress.org support sites:

  http://wordpress.org/support/

  http://codex.wordpress.org/

  We don’t allow FTP access to sites here at WordPress.com, but you can always export your content from your site through your dashboard at Tools > Export.
