Stuck in a loop where we can’t update anything

At the moment we are stuck in a loop of not being able to update anything because it’s relying on something else that’s not working.
I can’t update the website without running a backup, but BackUp Buddy gets most of the way through a full back up before failing because it couldn’t zip the files. It’s not telling me why, it just says to refer to the Status Log, which refers to a ‘write error on Zip file’.
Word Press dashboard is also saying we can’t update anyway because our PHP isn’t the current version – but gives no help as to how to fix this either.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
