Stuck Jetpack Connection Loop on Free Site

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

My Jetpack connection is completely broken and throwing an unknown error on my free WordPress.com site.

    My site URL is troop161ma.wordpress.com

I am completely locked out of the Jetpack settings, and the plugin cannot be deactivated or deleted from my dashboard. I have already tried using the “?jetpack_disconnect=1” URL string tool, but it did not clear the error.

Could a staff member please clear my site’s Jetpack connection tokens from the backend so it can reset?

    Thank You!

Hi! This is a great question but unfortunately clearing Jetpack connection tokens from the backend requires WordPress.com staff access — community members can’t do that from our end.

    Here’s what I’d suggest:

    1. Contact WordPress.com support directly at wordpress.com/help/contact — explain that you have a broken Jetpack connection loop and need the connection tokens cleared from the backend. Staff can do this quickly.
    2. In your message to support mention that you already tried the ?jetpack_disconnect=1 URL string so they know what you’ve already attempted and can skip straight to the backend fix.
    3. You can also try going to yoursite.wordpress.com/wp-admin/plugins.php and attempting to deactivate Jetpack from there if the dashboard option isn’t working.

Since Jetpack is built by Automattic the support team should be very familiar with this issue and able to resolve it quickly for you!

    Good luck!
