Submenu issues with the Photography theme
-
How do I get my submenus to show up in the Photography theme? I have built a couple of pages and inserted them as submenus under my portflio menu in the header but I can’t get the pages to load. Actually, the entire Portfolio link shows a “Page Not Found” error message.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
When you have Portfolio Projects enabled on your blog, the portfolio and portfolio projects will use the portfolio section of your blog at this URL: http://pixelatedperspectives.com/portfolio/
Pages that you set up under a portfolio page at that URL won’t be displayed on your site as long as portfolio projects are enabled. To add portfolio projects there, you’ll need to add them under Portfolio > Add New in your site’s dashboard.
If you’d rather use pages instead of portfolio projects on your site, you can disable portfolio projects under Settings > Writing in your site’s dashboard. In the Your Custom Content Types section, next to Portfolio Projects, you can uncheck the box marked “Enable.” That way, your regular pages will appear on your site again.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Hi Rachel,
I have tried what you have suggested and it’s still not acting as I was expecting. I’ve tried nesting 2 projects now under the Portfolio Menu. One appears when you float over the Portfolio menu item, but it comes up with a 404 error. The other just doesn’t show up. I tried indenting these under the Portfolio page with no success. Now the two projects show when you click the portfolio link as one post.
Am I just think headed?
Thanks.

Hi there,
I’m sorry! I probably just didn’t explain it clearly. Right now, when you go to Pages > All Pages in your site’s dashboard, you can see that you have a Portfolio page set up and two child pages nested underneath it (“Events” and “Urban Landscapes”).
However, as long as you have the Portfolios feature set up, that regular page titled “Portfolio” and any child pages nested underneath it won’t show up. Instead, your site will show a special portfolio page (part of that Portfolios feature) and the portfolio projects you have set up under Portfolio > All Projects in the dashboard.
I see the two portfolio projects you set up there, but the only issue now is that your custom menu isn’t set up to show those portfolio projects — it’s showing the regular pages instead. You can change your custom menu under Appearance > Menus in your dashboard. You can remove the regular “Urban Landscapes” page from that custom menu, and go to the Projects section to add links to your portfolio projects instead.
That should fix up the 404 error for you. Please let me know if you have any questions about that, or if you’d like me to help you get that fixed. :)
