subscriber not appearing as subscribed (widget problem?)

Hello!
A friend recently subscribed to my blog, received an ok message from WordPress but they don’t appear as subscribed, either in their own list nor on my page… I just used the widget available, what am I missing?

Can you share your email address here? No need to worry about privacy as our forums software will automatically hide it from the public so that only WordPress.com staff can see it.
For example, you can’t see it, but I just typed contact[at]mysite.com below this line:
(email visible only to moderators and staff)

Makes sense! But you didn’t receive the same email, theirs was just a line + a link “Manage your WordPress.com subscriptions by clicking this link or copying it into a browser :”
The link just shows a list of the person’s current subscriptions and dn’t even include my blog …? You got a great message and in Spanish! -
I really don’t know what went wrong, but since they already have a WordPress.com account, they can subscribe to your blog by clicking on one of the follow buttons at the bottom.
Then, they can go to their subscription settings and enable the email delivery for your blog. Here’s how to do that:

Thing is that they do NOT have WP account to begin with as far as they are aware + subscription to my blog doesn’t appear in their list (when clicking on link) anyway…
Also, having received the confirming email (repeat, with no confirm subscription button included) they never received any updates from my blog… -
It worked out in the end thanks so much. Turns out they DID have a WP account… One first tough “customer” 😅
