Why doesn’t the basic plan include qn option for readers of my blog to subcribe?

This is for https://maddpoetrenee.wordpress.com/ yes? It is possible to subscribe to sites on WordPress.com, no upgrade needed so this can be done on free sites without issue.
To do that you have two options:
- Subscription form block – add a subscription option directly to the text area of any page or post
- Follow Blog Widget – add a signup to your widget sidebar/footer
Adding either of these to your WordPress.com site will allow visitors to type in their email address, and then they will receive a new email any time you publish a new blog post.
