Subscribers

    Dear support.

I am writing with regards to http://www.contrariansmind.com which was previously hosted on wordpress and recently moved to a self hosted platform.

After connecting with JETPACK I do not see the 150K + subscribers which I previously had.

Can you please advise how to recover them? Being connected still with JetPack I should have access to my previous subscribers.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Kind regards,

    Erion

  • We have a tool for moving followers/subscribers to your Jetpack connected WordPress site. You can find instructions here:

    http://jetpack.me/support/subscription-migration-tool/

Take a look through that page and let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll be happy to help.

    Hi Josh,

Thank you for the instructions. I have tried to move the subscribers to the new dmain but the “Move Followers From A WordPress.com Site” dropdown selection is empty. I do not see the old wordpress hosted site.

    New domain: contrariansmind.com
    Old domain: contrariansmind.wordpress.com

Please advise how I can proceed.

    Regards,

    Erion

  • I can help you with that.

However, do keep in mind that the VAST majority of those subscribers were via Twitter. WordPress.com can do nothing about those subscribers and you will need to reconnect your new blog to Twitter in order to reconnect with them.

If you need help with your self hosted WordPress site, this forum is a great resource:

  • I have migrated your subscribers and followers to your new site.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

    Thank you,

I see that there are only 188 subscribers now. Do you mean that the twitter subscribers had entered their emails manually into the website (when hosted by wordpress) ?

Is there an easier way to connect the twitter followers with the subscribers list directly?

Having to invite 150K + visitors will be a harder route.

Hope there is an easier solution.

Many thanks and have a great day!

  • Do you mean that the twitter subscribers had entered their emails manually into the website (when hosted by wordpress) ?

No, they did not enter any email address. It means that you had your site connected to Twitter:

In theory, once you get your self-hosted site connected to Twitter again, those followers will see you again on their feeds.

This is a great site for help with self-hosted WordPress questions:
