Subscribers not receiving email notifications of new posts since September

    I run a badminton club and I run the (WordPress.com) web site for it as well. In the past I have posted a notification (post) on the web site and everyone that has “followed” the site gets an email with the content of that post – a really handy way of basically emailing everyone to let them know about date changes, remind them when a term is going to start etc.

    I have had a busy life over the past few months and hadn’t posted for a while – I posted in September and I know that I received that one (I generally keep a copy of the emails – I am a hoarder) but I posted in October and have no record of receiving that one – it was a last minute post so I may have either deleted the email (unlikely) or just not received it but didn’t notice.

    However I posted yesterday and it was quite an important post so was waiting for the email to arrive and it still hasn’t, now I thought it was a bug in the code because I had saved the post as a draft and then completed it an little while later before publishing it so this morning I used the “Copy” option, edited the message and published it again. Still no email to me or my wife or at least one other person who was awaiting the content of this post.

    Help!

    Aah, I just heard from one of my subscribers that they did get the email and had replied to it – as both the email address I use for posts on that site and the one I have registered as a subscriber myself are in fact on the same domain name (as indeed is my wifes) *and* I am the controller of that domain I have to assume that someone somewhere has blacklisted my domain in WordPress.com’s email system as well as on that subscriber’s email server – suggesting it is something like SpamCop or SpamHaus where it has been blacklisted – this meant that I was not getting the notifications or the replies (and as domain controller I have access to the SMTP logs on my email server so not even seeing any attempts to connect to it from WordPress etc) so I will have to go and investigate my domain. Sorry for assuming this was a wordpress error, if anyone has access to the wordpress.org email server and can see why emails to dnacomputing.co.uk are not even being attempted I would be most grateful, but I can close this particular topic as “resolved”.
