Subscription Bomb

  THis morning I received DOZENS of emails asking me to confirm subscriptions to various blogs from this site. I’m not sure if there’s a security issue or what to do to fix this. I’ve deleted them all, but they just keep rolling in.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  This can happen if someone who knows your email address adds it on the follow blog widget of multiple sites. I don’t know why anyone would do that, as they can’t possibly achieve anything except irritate the owner of the email address, but this does happen now and then.

  There is no way to prevent someone from using your email address in this way, but you can block all notification emails from us via your account settings:

  https://wordpress.com/me/notifications/subscriptions/

  If you leave the attempted subscriptions showing as pending in your account, the person doing this will also reach our email subscription cap, at which point they won’t be able to subscribe you to any more sites.
