Subscription notifications going to wrong email address
-
Hello! I have attempted to update my email address to the one which is the correct address associated with my blog, but am still receiving subscription notifications to my other email address that I originally used before my site was set up. Can you please help to resolve this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you please give me the email address at which you’re receiving notifications? Type the email address on its own line, and it will be hidden from public view, but staff will be able to see it.

Yes! I am receiving notifications at:
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
But I’d like to receive them at:
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
Thank you!

It looks like your old account has several subscriptions, and since you created a new account rather than updating the email, you’ll need to move the subscriptions over manually. So here’s what I would do if I were in your shoes:
– In Chrome, open a new Incognito Window (leaving your normal window open, too)
– Log into WordPress.com using that other email address
– Head to https://wordpress.com/following/manage
– Click on a site in your feed. Copy the URL at the top of the page
– Head back to your regular, non-incognito window, where you are logged in as traveltherapyblogger. Paste that URL. Click follow from this account
– Go back to your incognito window, press back, and unfollow that site.
And then you can just repeat with the other sites, until you’ve unfollowed all of the sites on the list and moved them to this account.
Luckily there aren’t too many, so hopefully it won’t take very long. If you need more help with this, let us know :)

Hello!
I tried the suggestion above, but am now seeing that all of my subscribers to my blog, and all of my blog content is affiliated with the wrong email address account.
Also with this updated info/content/subscribers account, I’m stuck with a nonsense “@name,” whereas the account without all of the information is the “@traveltherapyblogger” name that I want.
I have made quite a mess. :(

@traveltherapyblogger I see. You have two accounts, and each one is associated with a different email address.
– Are you looking to get rid of one account and one email address? If so, can you specify which account and which email?
– Are there any preferences or sites that you need to move from one account to the other?
-
Yes, exactly. And yes. I would ideally like to only have an account with the
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
and @traveltherapyblogger username
But I would need to move my site, content, and subscribers from the
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
account (along with any plugins, etc.) Is this possible? I have looked into attempting to add a user admin (with my other account) but it always takes issue with the fact that it’s a name that’s already in use. I have also tried changing the incorrect email to the correct one, but it’s the same story with saying that “the name is already in use.”

So the second account just has one site right now: a Jetpack connected site hosted at Bluehost. You wouldn’t be transferring the site and hosting itself, just the ownership. We can help with that if you’d like.
But it sounds like you’re actually just hoping to get everything related to that account to go to the email address for this account. Is that correct? If so, we have a pretty simple fix.
Our system won’t let you use the exact same email address on two accounts. But your mail provider has a workaround.
Log in as that other user, head to https://wordpress.com/me/account, then change the address to this:
youraddress+1@ yourprovider.com
Do it without a space, of course, and use your real email. The only think you’re changing, is that you’re adding a +1 just before the @ sign. No spaces anywhere. If you’ll do that, you’ll get a confirmation email, and then if you confirm, all of our notifications will go to your regular email address.
Can you give that a try and let us know if that accomplishes what you need?
If you’re still interested in transferring that second account’s connection to this first account, just confirm with us (while logged in as that other user) and we’ll see if we can help you sort that out.

Hello!
The +1 trick seems to have worked well! Thank you so much for your time and attention to helping me. As this is all very new, I am so so grateful for your help and guidance as I learn the ways of the blogging world! :)
Thank you!
