Subscription to newsletter

    Hi. Have a question about a ‘subscribing-button’ that was in a WP-template I used for creating my website. I just launched my website yesterday and a couple of people have signed for my newsletter. But I get emails informing me of theses people having changed the password. It looks as if they get the opportunity to get directly inside my website with access and login to make changes. Or have a misunderstood? Why do they receive a password when just signing for a newsletter…..? Anna

    Hi there,

    Of what site are you speaking?

    It sounds like you’re using the open source WordPress software, rather than WordPress.com, and you have the site configured so visitors can create guest accounts on the site. That is not possible on WordPress.com.

    If the button came with your theme, please contact support for that theme for help.

    And for general help with that version of WordPress, please post in https://wordpress.org/support/ instead.
