Suggestion on domain on wordpress.com and bluehost

    Hi all,

    First of all, I am sorry if I am asking a simple question but I am very new on blogging and domain so I want to ask for your suggestion on what should I do.

    Today, I try to buy a domain at wordpress.com,with name “iamcrea.com” (17$) but I realized that I can’t upload a wordpress theme because wordpress.com don’t allowed it instead I should be using wordpress.org on a self-hosted server.

    That’s why I tried to buy a domain at blue host with the same domain name, “iamcrea.com”. I already pointed the DNS nameservers from within my WordPress admin area (using SETTINGS > DOMAINS) to point to the Bluehost servers.

    My question is as I probably will be using the domain at Blue Host, can you suggest to me what should I do with the one I bought at WordPress.com?
    Can I cancel it and get a refund? Or actually I should still keeping the domain at wordpress.com?

    Once again, I am very sorry if this is a simple question but I really only know a little about blogging and domain things so I really appreciate it if someone can suggest what is the best thing I should do.

    Keep the domain name and continue to point it to your self-hosted site. After the 60 day waiting period that ICANN requires you can then transfer it to your new host if you wish (but, you don’t have to).

    If you cancel the domain name here, there is no guarantee that you will be able to repurchase it with bluehost once you’ve cancelled it here.
