suspicious blog activity

    My blog is 2.5 years old. It’s taken me this long to get to my first 500 followers – in the past 3 weeks or so I’ve gotten an additional 250 ish new followers. Combined with the sheer amount of spam comments I’m getting these days (more than 80% of the blogs total comments) I’m starting to think my blog’s security has a problem.

    I have already changed my password to something that looks like the cat walked across the keyboard, and installed the Google Authenticator security option. Any other suggestions ?

    Having a strong password that you change regularly and activating Two Step Authentication are excellent preventative measures.

    Spam often comes in waves over time. If you find that spam comments are not getting marked as spam by the Akismet spam filter, would you let me know so we can have our developers take a look? Thanks. very much.
