Switching domain hostings

  I am hosting my account in bluhost… and they have asked that you please:

  1) remove privacy setting
  2) unlock account
  ​3) share my ipp code​

  Hi there,

  I checked your account, and your site was deactivated when you deleted your site.

  If you’re wanting to transfer your domain, you should never cancel it at your current host because once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

  I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.

  Hey Darnelldibbles, thanks for getting back to me! I know, I made the silly mistake of deleting my site, under the assumption that that would mean I could transfer my domain over after.

  It would be great if you can contact the registrar to see if they can restore my domain. If so, do you know how I can transfer that over to Bluhost after? (/ what my next steps are..)

  Hey, Thanks so much! I’ would like to move my site over to bluhost for hosting.. they’ve asked that I retrieve the following information: Do you know how the following can be done?

  Yes, you can do all of the above by following the instructions on our support page:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/

  However, you won’t be able to transfer your site for another 57 days. Once registered, a domain must stay with the registrar for 60 days before transferring their site to a different host.

  However, in the meantime, you fan Change Name Servers so that you can use the domain with site hosted elsewhere.
