Switching from free to paid website

    If I switch from a free website to a paid one – can I expect to have the same website title?

    Example: If I build a website under ‘Floridaenvironmentaltips.wordpress.com’ then when I start paying will it be transferred to ‘Floridaenvironmentaltips.com’ ?

    Hi!

    It will not be automatically transferred to Floridaenvironmentaltips.com’ However, our paid plan include the option to use a custom domain (and include registration of that domain for the first year). So, you can choose to set up Floridaenvironmentaltips.com as your site’s URL, assuming that it is an available domain to register.

    If you have registered Floridaenvironmentaltips.com elsewhere, you can also use it with your WordPress.com paid plan site by following these instructions:

    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
