switching from wordpress.com to our own domain

  we are a small not for profit organization that have a wordpress.com site. We want to get the personal plan and domain and switch to it while leaving our site the way it is. can we do it? We will leave it hosted at wordpress.com. And we
  wonder if the annual price of the personal plan goes up after the first year.

  We have a few options for adding a domain to your site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#add-a-domain-name

  Either way, the domain will simply be added to the existing site, nothing will change on the existing site except the domain. :)
