Switching from WordPress.com to the WordPress software

  I’m a newbie blogger, barely one post, and discovered I should have gone with the software vs. the free WordPress.com route. Guess I should have done better research! I just want to keep my name – no content – how do accomplish this task?

  Hi there,

  Since you have little to no content on your site and you cannot use the WordPress.com URL that you currently have, there is nothing you really have to do in terms of transferring content. You’ll need to register a new domain and register for site hosting. Once you do that, you can install WordPress. Most hosts have a one lick option for installation.
