Switching of website registration to new owner.

  How do I get the registration of a paid-for website, which is registered to someone else, transferred to me, as we both wish to do? I’ve been paying the annual fees, and the other person no longer wants to be dealing with the transaction complications which have arisen.

  Hi there,

  What is the address of the site, please?

  If the site is hosted with us on WordPress.com, the site owner can transfer the domain to your account using these steps:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-a-domain-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

  And once that’s done they can transfer ownership of the site itself:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

  This domain is hosted at GoDaddy, but if the owner is willing to cooperate with you, you can likely have it transferred to you anyway.
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/prepare-domain-for-transfer/

  I believe you would want to have them transfer the domain here first, and then update the contact information, but we will double check on that.
