switching over to wordpress.org

Hello, I spoke with someone earlier and had them refund my personal plan on wordpress.com because I wanted to switch over to wordpress.org.

I got an account with bluehost to host my wordpress.org site and linked it to the domain I already own, which I was previously using with my wordpress.com site. When the person cancelled my wordpress.com plan, the domain I had mapped went away. However, bluehost is not letting me use this domain. This message pops up and I don’t understand why since I no longer am using that domain with wordpress.com. this is the message : Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

You’ll need to log into your Bluehost account and point the nameservers of your domain back over to your site host.

Here are instructions on how to change their nameservers:

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
