Hi Virginia, do you already have a self-hosted WordPress site over at Hostgator?
To export your content from a self-hosted WordPress site, head over to Tools > Export, and generate an export file.
You can then check out our guide to importing your content to a new WordPress.com site:
There isn’t any information you need from Hostgator unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re asking, in which case, feel free to clarify which information you’d like and I’ll be more than glad to help. Thanks!

Hi Kathryn-
I believe I have done it, but I can’t tell if WP is actually hosting it now, rather than Hostgator & I would like to cancel my acct. there without losing anything. Could you please check?
Thx

Hi Bay, it looks like your name servers for Domain Mapping baybrown.com are still pointing to Hostgator:
ns569.hostgator.com 184.172.187.227
ns570.hostgator.com 96.125.166.224In order to map it back to WordPress.com, you’ll need to log into your domain registration control panel and update the name servers to:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comPlease be sure to first read our guide to mapping an existing domain – especially the heads-up about any email accounts you may have on the domain.
Let me know how it goes.
