Taking away Classic Editor without warning and treating free plans as second cla
-
I don’t appreciate an inhuman interface, and over the many years that I’ve used WordPress, I’ve noted a worsening service – both pushing customer support away from the the lower paid plans, and also what we can do. I consider this a contracting issue, for you have changed the offering without notice and negotiation. I am angered to be told that AI alone will speak to me, and that its answer is ‘nothing from us today’. I deeply query the supposed official post on here that tells me to emrbrace AI. Many of us are deeply concerned and antu especially those who care about geniune interactions, good service, justice, and who create. At least two of those should concern WordPress. I’ve noted a fall in viewing numbers, as if they’re trying to push me into paying, but I see that more tiers are added, offering us less and less. I was really angry to go to upload my latest post, which has an advertised due date, to find that Classic editor has gone (when I had just used it). It suits a different kind of writer, and I won’t be paying to get back what I had already.
Required boxes are as unlawful as they are annoying

I’m in the same boat as you, and I have a paid plan. There is a way to get to Classic Editor, but it’s a crappy little form with barely any features. The AI said to get the plugin. This is such nonsense.

Hi there, do you mean the full legacy classic editor?
If so, if your free site was created before February 5, 2025, you should still be able to access the Classic Editor through the drop down menu at the top of the page on the Posts and Pages dashboards.

Check out this support guide which explains in detail.
For sites with any upgrade plan and a plugin installed, you can go to Plugins>Installed Plugins and activate the Classic Editor there. There is a detailed support guide here. https://wordpress.com/support/editors/classic-editor-guide/#enable-with-plugins
Post back here if you have more questions. We’re happy to help.
